1935 movie creation "The Godtoddlers"

Basically the whole story is Humphrey Bogart, Da Boss is a huge mafia guy in Chicago and the first scene shows his grave after he died in the mafia and his daughter Shirley Temple, Crystal takes the throne of his large Mafia. She takes control of some parks and such. whatever a 7 year old gangster would do. Then the rival gang, with leader Edward G Robinson, Frankie Joyce decided to retire to compete against the competition properly and puts his son Norman Chubby Chaney, Chubs, competes against Crystal. At first, Chubs follows his father footsteps and rules his gang as a mean mobster, but when he found out he was competing against the cute little Crystal. Crystal and Chubs have a friendly get together at the neutral ground, Grant Park, and Crystal changes Chubs for good. Over some time, Crystal and Chubs get in a relationship and the become great friends. Through their relationship, the gangs dissipate and they work together to make Chicago a better place.

Well we chose this genre because we wanted to be unique and stand out so we made the first comedy gangster of the time period. This would also appeal to many more people as we have combined to genres of film.

We used the Warner Brothers Studio because, at the time, they were infamous for creating great gangster movies and they were also dabbling in comedic movies as well. The best for "The Godtoddlers."

We chose Humphrey Bogart because he was a tough, mean looking guy at the time and his character would compliment the movie well. We wanted to incorporate Shirley Temple because she was just starting up in the movie industry at the time, and if we could go back and create this movie with her in it, it would obviously be her best movie ever. We chose Edward G. Robinson because he was another tough looking guy that would be a great gangster. Finally we chose Norman Chubby Chaney because this would make the movie funny in that aspect. He just looks funny, and the things he could bring into this movie are endless.

We would get around most Hay code no-no's by not showing the bad things such as death or drug trafficking because the story will focus on the childish "mafia" parts and what they would do. This would not only get around most parts of the Hays Code, but it would also be funnier to the audience, as they have never seen anything like this before.

If I had total control of thinking about this movie, I don't really know too much of what I would change, as I like it just as how it is already. But if I had to think of something to change, I would try to focus more on the quarrels between Temple and Chaney. This could also spur some more comedic moments in the movie and make the story longer as well. I would do this because real stories don't always end "happily ever after" soon after they meet.

"MYST POST #1: The Interview

After all of the hype on the news over "The Interview," I knew I had to see it. My friends and I had this on our movie list for a while and watched it together one weekend. I heard many people saying that this movie is hilarious and I wanted to see for myself. I love the James Franco Seth Rogan combo in this movie as well. Being that Seth Rogan directed this I would relate this to many of his other movies. It has very similar comedy to "This is the End" and "Neighbors." Alright, so lets get into the movie!

This movie's plot basis is around Dave Skylark (James Franco) as an interviewer to many famous people and their problems. I would probably compare it to another late night show that interviews celebrities and their problems or who got a "new boob job" as stated in the movie. The main producer to the show, "Skylark Tonight," is Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogan). Together, after realizing that their show could be interviewing bigger and better people, they book an interview with Kim Jong Un, the dictator of North Korea. They also find out that Un is a big fan of "Skylark Tonight," which helps them get the interview. The CIA found their interview to be very beneficial for them because they are the only ones that will have direct contact with Un. The CIA wants them to kill Kim Jong Un to get rid of the brutal dictator in the communist country. With a ton of close calls and jokes along the way, their time in North Korea is action packed. SPOILER ALERT The tag team do end up killing Kim Jong Un, but not the way the CIA instructed them to do. I would relate this plot to "Pineapple Express" because it always ends up alright for everyone as it does in both movies. Also even the friends that abandoned each other earlier in the movie, meet back up in the end to win together.

The movie conforms with most aspects of cinematic elements. Something that stood out to me is how they portrayed many things in North Korea. The castle that Un lives in is shown to be very large and dark to show how evil North Korea is. This is another reason why North Korea gave Sony Pictures trouble about releasing the movie in theaters. The special effects of explosions and fight scenes are top notch.

One scene that stands out in my head is when Dave Skylark and Kim Jong Un play basketball together. They play in a stadium and only the court is lit up. All of the seats are extremely dark and try to emphasize that Kim Jong Un really isn't the "God" his citizens portray him to be. Kim Jong Un misses and dunk and falls that portrays that. A funny part of this scene is that the hoop is lowered to probably eight feet to portray that they want basketball to be easier for them. One other aspect that stood out for me was the angle of the camera. It was always kept during waist to chest height to makes them seem that they were taller than they actually are. This also tries to show the authority that the two of them have.

In conclusion, this movie is the funniest I have seen in a while and surprised me how graphic some scenes were. And it also had much more action than other comedies had. I would correlate that how Seth Rogan is a director. I would even be bold enough to say that this is James Franco's best movie yet. This movie is so funny that me and my friends have so many inside jokes of lines from the movie. Finally I give this movie five out of five stars.Image result for 5 stars
